Obedience: God's Love Language

It’s been a while since I last wrote here. I needed some time for reflection, to step back and seek understanding with the Lord.

I wanted to examine my motives—why I write, why I post, and what truly drives me. Was it for self-glorification? Or was it a genuine desire to share the joy and beauty I’ve found in Him?

I want to share with you what the Lord spoke to my heart—a truth I needed to hear, and maybe you do too.

God reminded me of something simple but profound: I follow Him, not the other way around.

He showed me that He is the one who placed holy desires in my heart—the longing to evangelize, to create, to worship. But alongside them, my human nature had also fostered other desires: to be seen, to be successful, to feel important. These didn’t come from Him. They came from the influence of the world.

And He called me to step out of that mindset.

I am already someone in Him—I am His daughter. What more could I possibly need?

There is no higher honor, no greater title. Whether He calls me to speak to thousands or to care for just one person, both are equally important in His eyes.

But here’s where the enemy had been deceiving me—mixing truth with lies. He twisted my desire to serve God into a craving for worldly success. He whispered that my calling's success should be measured by numbers, recognition, and influence.

But God—full of grace and truth—showed me something different.

He asked me, "Do you love Me enough to do what I’ve called you to do? Will you obey, even when no one is watching?"

He reminded me that every role in His Kingdom matters, that His plans are woven together in perfect harmony. Nothing He calls us to is small or insignificant.

And the truth is, our identity is already secure in Him. We don’t need to prove ourselves, we don’t need to chase recognition. We only need to trust Him, obey Him, and live in His truth.

And yes, I want to follow His will for my life. First, He called me into a relationship with Him. Then, He called me to a mission. If that mission is meant for just two people, then so be it. I no longer believe the lie that a grand platform defines my success in Him. My only desire is to please Him and reach the ones He places in my path.

So today, I want to encourage you with what He reminded me:

You are already loved, already chosen, and already successful in Him. His calling on your life holds deep significance, no matter how big or small it may seem—especially in a world that measures worth by status and recognition.

God has called us to love, and love isn’t about visibility—it’s about obedience.

"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." (John 14:15)

Let’s walk in this truth together. Let’s remind each other that our purpose is found only in Him.

With love,

Carmen
